Meet our doctors

Dr Mary Ward is a UCG graduate. After finishing her GP training in the NHS in Wales she moved to New Jersey and obtained a Fellowship in New York. She practised on a US army base as a medical director.

When she returned to Ireland she worked with the HSE and did a Masters degree in Public Health. She established her GP practice in Clontarf in 2001, and became a GP trainer with the TCD GP training scheme for 16 years.

She has a higher diploma in dermatology, and a postgraduate diploma in paediatrics and obstetrics. She is married to Hugh and has 3 grown-up children.

Dr Amy Ward is a graduate of UCD and completed her specialist training in General Practice with the Trinity College Dublin GP Training Scheme. During her training she worked at Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross and developed a special interest in Palliative Care.

Amy has a special interest in dermatology and holds a Masters degree in Dermatology from the University of South Wales. She presented at the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Ireland Annual Conference in 2026.

As an undergraduate she engaged in research in Canada and the United States, with work presented at national and international medical conferences. In 2025, she was awarded the Sarah McAnallen Research Medal for her research in allergy.

Originally from Clontarf, Amy continues to live locally with her husband, Michael.
